Abstract:
Happy 1st Birthday Anna
We got to celebrate another big milestone this weekend! I am still reeling that Anna is 1! I know Anna won’t remember this weekend but she had a blast in the moment.
Friday we spent a great day as a family. We had an early morning wakeup and sang Happy Birthday to Anna! We took her out to lunch to celebrate her big day! Then we had our family over for dinner and cake. It was a wonderful day to spend with Anna.
Saturday we had our family over again for Anna’s party. The big hit of the day was a visit from Elmo! Uncle Keith dressed up as Elmo and was the hit of the party. It will definitely be something we always remember!
Much to my surprise, Anna did not dig right into her cake. It took some prodding for her to even touch it. She puts everything in her mouth but she didn’t want to put the cake in her mouth. The icing on her face is from us putting it there. At least I can hope she won’t have my sweet tooth plaguing her for life!
This has been a wonderful year. Watching Anna grow and experience things for the first time has been amazing. I know we are only at the tip of the iceberg also. I was slightly upset on her birthday that my baby was already a year old and things went so fast but Brian reminded me that the best is still to come. I can’t even imagine what my baby is going to be like as we get ready to celebrate her 2nd birthday!
I never really understood the statement “It takes a village to raise a child” but after this year I completely understand it. This birthday marks making it to 1 year for everyone! Brian and I did not get to this point without a lot of support and love from many people. We can’t even begin to thank our parents and siblings for the hours of help they have given us. I’ll be the first to admit I hate asking for help but I had to learn pretty quickly I wasn’t going to thrive without help from our family. Thank you also to my mom friends who answered countless questions… and I am sure there will be more!
Next week is Anna’s 1 year checkup. I can’t wait to see how much she weighs and how tall she is. She has 7 teeth and 2 molars already! Since the first one came in they have been coming in fast and furious. She still isn’t walking but I am sure it will be any day. Her favorite thing to do is talk! She talks all day. We go to the store and everyone comments because she talks throughout the whole store. I can’t wait to really understand what she has to say.
I am still home with her and loving every minute of it. I joined a Mom’s Club so we go to playgroups and different events. We visit with Grandma and Grandpa Bernstein and Grandma Marks. Anna sure loves her grandparents!
Enjoy the new pictures! There are a lot!
