As you know from Brian’s post, my grandpa passed away recently.  He was very sick for a long time so it wasn’t a surprise but it still is a shock when it happens.  I will miss him terribly but I have so many memories of him to make me smile.  I am so thankful Anna got to enjoy her great grandpa.  I remember last January he was very sick and we were praying that he was going to make it to see Anna be born.  Now we are so blessed that he got to enjoy her first year and celebrate her first birthday!  He is in heaven now dancing with my Grandma (whom Anna is named after) and that has to bring a smile to anyone’s face.

Anna had her one year checkup and the doc said she is growing strong!  She is 22 pounds and just shy of 30 inches.  She had her first ear infection also.  A little medicine though and that cleared up.   Check out the pictures below of her at the doc office.  My what a change!

We moved her into her new car seat this weekend (don’t worry ours went to 30 pounds, we weren’t squishing her into the infant seat!).  I can’t believe she is in her big girl chair now.  She really likes it… it is so comfy I want to sit in it.  She has a mouth full of teeth.  Every time she opens her mouth I spot a new tooth popping up.

Grandma Marks, Aunt Katie, and Uncle Tom came to stay with Anna while we were in New York for the funeral.  Anna enjoyed her time away from Mom and Dad and being spoiled by Grandma. 

I go back to work next week.  I am doing audit consulting.  It is only a week long engagement but it is a slow start back into the working world.
